In an attempt to respark development for SoulFu I have tried to contact members from the old forum, get new members, and get people who used to check this to come back. Chances are not to many people will actually see this, but those who do If you you could do anything to help SoulFu (ideas, development skills, etc.) post them and maybe we can get SoulFu development going again.

In this case - I think that community should make one exactly build, but not many with they own features. Why do we need many good modifications of the game when we can have one excellent?

I completely agree. This would actually be really easy to do since someone would have already added everything. What are all the mods you would want?

Save mod - first of all. But it should be keeping some challenge element. What I mean is that SoulFu position oneself as rogue-like RPG. Of course saves shouldn't be deleted if character of player will die. But it should not be like in classic FPS (in case of dying - just load the state). Game must punish players for their fails. I think that Diablo 2 save system will be exactly what SoulFu needs - players can save only when they are exiting. Plus console games like system possibly - you can save only in towns, near shops.
Second - the game should end somehow. Last boss and some message at the end.
Also - evolution of dogs and cats. It was definitely what I wanted to see in original game. ^_^
Actually - there are many other things. For example - I think that SoulFu should be rebalanced in many ways... But it's not primary aims at start to my opinion.

I don't know if you have version or not, but it has a saving system very close to one you're talking about. You can only save in towns, so you can go back and re-open the save but it's usually not worth it. Dying gives you the normal punishment of cutting your exp. in half and taking away your coins and rings.
I agree about the final boss and actually already worked on something like that. There's no message but if you can get to and beat that boss without cheating I'll tip my hat to you. Also I'll see what I can do about pet evolution.

Yes, I'm not very good so I would love your help. I think we need to come up with a formal to-do list before we get started and a respitory would be a good idea.
I think the first things to do should be to
-Make classes and virtues balanced.
-Finish stuff that Aaron didn't such as Ogres, Watchers, Vinemages, the Trident object etc.
-Implement mana regain.

I can create a repository in Github and we use the Github issues and wiki for the todo, but from what code will we start? The original 1.5?

The version that's just 1.5 with the good saving system I think. The others all have things that I don't like and we need to have saving already implemented.
